Here is a perfect example of capitalism and the innovation that results. A young fellow outside of Boston is packaging insulated boxes of snow and charging 89 dollars a box plus shipping. He claims to have sold over 100 boxes so far. That is exceptional American thinking. Now if he were in a socialist country he would have never even attempted this business venture. For if he, did the government would seize the proceeds because he was stealing the peoples snow. The snow belongs to the government.

Honestly the reason the United States is because it is a stable democracy with a growing economy and a powerful military. Most countries cant even handle one of those things ie all of the eu, Russia, China, a lot of Asia.

Yea we have one group spending millions to save the preemie babies and another spending millions to kill the unborn. If the USA is the best the world has tooffer humanity then we are all fucked.

 

Unfortunately we do have our leftist socialists. However I have hope they will one day embrace capitalism. I for one believe if everyone on earth made a good living, was able to eat a good nutritious diet, had comfortable accommodations and true freedom we most likely would have less conflicts. However that is just my opinion.

Now, if this was a TRUE example of MODERN American capitalism, we'd find out that he's now paying Himalayan workers half the wages of American workers to gather and pack the snow and was raising his price to $99 a box and banking his profits in Switzerland and the Cayman Islands to avoid paying U.S. income tax.

Ah, but you fail to see the entire picture. The USA is so much more prosperous than the rest of the world we have people that have an extra 89 dollars plus 17 dollars for shipping to spare. Can you see why every country should adopt free commerce? Just imagine how great we could be here in the U.S. if we did not have our left leaning citizens trying to stifle capitalism.

 

Some folks do not understand how capitalism really works.

Wealth is not finite, it is a quantity that is ever changing. Wealth grows when value is established on something that previous had no value (or lesser value). Wealth is destroyed when something of previous value is rendered less valuable. This devaluation can occur through market forces (competition) or policy forces (regulation and taxation).

Policy will never increase wealth, it can only create an atmosphere that is conducive to growth, but it can have a direct negative effect.

 

The problem is capitalism. Capitalism is nothing more than the means to and end. Those with that means , even a little bit of it, use it to get what they them selves want.. And often what they want is power, over others.
What is "true freedom"?

 

True freedom is the ability for you to be all you desire to be. Within peaceful values.

The key word here is values. No two people have exactly the same values.

Values +power(capital) = inequity.
